(Twenty  ird in a series of articles de- scribing the forma- tion of City Light Coalition, Inc., and the occurrence of the 1997 Tony Evans Crusade.)
Tuesday Evening, May 19, 1997:  e  rst day of the Crusade had been a great success. God had shown His pres- ence in every way. John Bolton of the Col- iseum and USC event coordinator as well as the athletic coordinators for USC had been complimentary of City Light’s plan- ning and readiness for the event.  ey said it made their job easy. And the turnout from the 200 plus churches that had their names as supporters at the headquarters on Elmwood at Main had been gratifying. Approximately forty thousand attendees had turned out,  lling the  ve thousand chairs on the grounds of the stadium and the lower portions of the stadium. Over 2,000 volunteers were there assisting in all matters. A motorcycle gang even assisted by taking up the o ering—and turning it in.  e large choir, led by Dr Steve Phil- lips of First Baptist opened the service and warmed up the crowd.

THE DOG ON THE FLEA
Pointing my  n- ger in the direc- tion I wanted to go, I was excitedly yell- ing directions to my husband while we were cruising around Myrtle Beach. “Hey, Joe, go that direction.
What is that? Do you see it?”
I was excited, but Joe kept his cool. After having  own 100 suicide missions in the  ud (F105  ghter jet) over North Viet Nam while in the USAF, understandably most everything else in life since then has seemed like a cakewalk to Joe. So, he calmly turned our little red car around and started driving in the direction that I wanted to go. After all, we were in Myrtle Beach... tourism land... where everything was designed to attract attention and emp- ty one’s wallet.
“You are talking about that ‘upside down’ house, aren’t you?”
“Yes sir, and when you get close enough, I want a few pictures.”
