Iam a Jesus pusher!!! Far too often our evangelism exists within certain bound- aries. If I am a pastor of a church, my evangelism exists within the realm of my church associations. If I teach a Sunday school class, my evangelism is focused on Sunday morning in a classroom. As a mis- sionary my evangelism is focused on a par- ticular geographical section of the world. If I participate in “jail ministry,” that be- comes the boundaries of my evangelism. However, as one views the statement of Jesus there is no suggestion of boundar- ies. en He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you shers of men” (Matthew 4:19). ere seems to be no limits placed on the call. It is so open ended.
Would early Christianity become a sect of Judaism? Would the old prejudice limit
the evangelism of their new faith? Would these early disciples develop a Christian faith within the legalism of the Jewish laws? After His resurrection before His as- cension, He met with them at an appointed time in Galilee at the mountain (Matthew 28:16). He stated “the completeness of the call” by eliminating every other emphasis. ere was no other focus. He highlighted “the condition of the call” by saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth” (Matthew 28:18). “ e cir- cumference of the call” is clearly stated as He cries, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19, 20). Jesus focused their vision on all nations. e old wine skins of Judaism could not contain the new wine of the indwelling of Jesus! Jesus is for everyone. I am a Jesus pusher!!!
