CityLight Uganda is a part of an international network of Jesus centered Prayer Teams. CityLight Uganda seeks to organi
ze Prayer Teams in every District, county, city and division of Uganda.
Each Prayer Team has a leader and 12 members who come together for worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism. The main purpose is to be the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The leader's focus is to train each member to recruit and train his/her own Prayer Team from the lost.
CityLight Prayer Team members are from many different cultures, countries, races, communities, societies and denominations but we are united as one body in Christ.
CityLight Prayer Team Members are committed to living the Two Great Commandments and carrying out The Great Commission. We are not separate from but active members in our local Christian Church.
CityLight Prayer Team Members are individuals, churches, ministries and businesses who have come together in prayer asking God to guide us as we respond to the needs of our community.
Uganda is divided into 80 districts, spread across four administrative regions: Northern, Eastern, Central and Western. The districts are subdivided into counties. A number of districts have been added in the past few years, and eight others were added on July 1, 2006.[11] Most districts are named after their main commercial and administrative towns. Each district is divided into sub-districts, counties, sub-counties, parishes and villages. Our goal in Uganda is to organize a CityLight Prayer Team in every one of these entities.
Parallel with the state administration, five traditional Bantu kingdoms have remained, enjoying some degrees of mainly cultural autonomy. The kingdoms are Toro, Ankole, Busoga, Bunyoro and Buganda.
