Paul Fant, 57, has a long history with SCANA that began in 1979.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Fant graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering in 1975. He has more than 35 years of experience working in the utilities industry, including 30 years of service at SCANA and its subsidiaries.
His currentresponsibilities include executive oversight for engineering, system and operations planning, customer service and business development and management of design, construction, operation and maintenance for Carolina Gas Transmission pipeline operations in South Carolina and Georgia. Fant also serves as a member of SCANA's senior management team.
Fant has served in a variety of leadership positions at SCANA, including senior vice president of transmission services and president and chief operating officer of SC Pipeline Corporation and SCG Pipeline, Inc. These two pipeline companies merged to form Carolina Gas Transmission, an interstate company in 2006.
Fant is active in his local community, currently serving on the board of directors of the Columbia Urban League, Claflin University, Palmetto Health Foundation and the South Carolina Research Authority. He is also a member of the American Association of Blacks in Energy and was honored with the John H. Whiteman award in 2003 by the Columbia Urban League for dedicated service. In 1997 and 1999, Fant was named a recipient of the "Top 25 Influencers" award by South Carolina Business Vision magazine.
