within 30 miles of us, we decided that I could stay in the cockpit and drive, and Keith and Bob could strip to their underwear and push on the wings while I ran the engine wide open and maybe we could get back into deep enough wa- ter to make our take off. It worked, but not eas- ily. Bob and Keith, both, got on one side of the plane and pushed that wing forward until the plane was almost parallel to the shore. Then they both went to the other wing and pushed that one until the plane was almost facing the opposite direction. After several of those ma- neuvers, fortunately, we got the amphibian into deepenoughwatertomoveonitsown. Ipulled the landing gear up, taxied out and back in close
enough for them to wade out and climb into the cockpit. Another memorable experience.
Now wasn’t that fun? Who said Christians don’t have any fun? Of course, we also had many great devotionals while there. If Jesus had come during our day and age, I think he might have met Peter, James and John while fishing from a Lake Amphibian.
