AndifIdowhatIdonotwanttodo,Iagree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.” (Romans 7:15-18)
We know that there’s something in your members, or in your flesh that’s warring against your mind. Paul said that we don’t have the power to do what is right. If the flesh is leading us, then by following the flesh we’ll always end up doing that which we don’t want.
“For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.NowifIdowhatIdonotwanttodo, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.” (Romans 7:19-21)
Sometimes, we as the Body of Christ believe that once we get to a certain place of matu- rity we no longer deal with certain things anymore. “No, you’re wrong.” We fail to realize those wrong thoughts, or flesh-type situation that are inconsistent with the will of God, will not stop, no matter how ma- ture you’re in your walk. The truth of the matter, whatever areas Satan’s tactics have found against you in the past, those are the very areas he will attack you in.
Most of the time you just need to realign your tongue, that you don’t fuel the flesh with wrong words.
Paul says in 1 Corinthians that he keeps his body under subjection---- it’s not out of control, it’s in control. His flesh doesn’t dic- tate to his mind what to do.
“To the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth: Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoice greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (3 John 1-4).
Something spoken about Gaius is: 1) “Evi- dence of the truth that is in you,” and 2) that “thou walkest in the truth.”
We need to choose as Gaius did. Your soul’s condition comes from the truth that’s in you, and walking in and out is the truth in your life. This is how you condition your soul. Renew your mind (by receiving the truth) you have definitely start by doing that which you know to do.
The condition of your mind you is created by the choices you make. God said, “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today again at you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19).
