Rev. Redfern II is the Presiding Bishop and General Overseer of the Ecu- menical Churches Worldwide. As the pre- siding Prelate, he serves as the responsible agent for North and South America, Africa and Asia. Rev. Redfern is also the Execu- tive Officer for CityLight, an international Faith Based Organization that organizes 13 member Prayer Groups in every state, county, city, and precinct in America and the 8 regional districts of the world.
Rev. Redfern was ordained in 1995 in Riverfront Park with the Rev. Benjamin Mays Blocker and Rev. Cliff Johnson of- ficiating. I.S. Leevy Johnson. E.J. Newby and John R. Harper, II were among those laying on hands. Redfern was invited into ministry, discipled and mentored by several local and national ministers. He cites Bishop Smallwood Williams and Elder A.C. Jackson of Bibleway; Bishop Fredrick C. James, Rev. Willie J. Nel- son and Rev. Ronnie Brailsford of the A.M.E. church; Rev. Rosce Wilson, Rev. A.A. Neal, Rev A.W. Goforth, Rev. W.H. Neal and Rev. William M. Bowman of the Missionary Baptist Convention; Fa- ther William F. O’Neal and Bishop S.K. Rembert of the Episcopal and Reformed Episcopal Church; and Bishop Robert L. Bishop and Rev. Ronald Bennett. Rev. Augustus Rodgers has been a friend, brother and teacher for all seasons.

Christ with Rev. Carey Hopkins and Rev. Theodore Kennedy. Rev. Marion Hill, Rev. M.L. Gallman, Rev. Keith Green and Sis- ter Georgia Alston were among the first Associate Ministers of the Church. Ralph Mills was the first Minister of Music. The First Church service was held at the Mar- garet H. Miller Center on Fontaine Road in Columbia, SC. The dream and vision at the beginning was to establish 500 Ecumenical Churches worldwide.
The Ecumenical Church served as the home of the founding members of the African American Catholic Congregation. Rev. Red- fern was the first founding member at the first service conducted by Bishop Stallings at Jones Memorial AMEZ church.
The Ecumenical church moved to Beth- lehem Center in the Waverly community where the ministry served over 600 families. There were over 300 youth in Bible Study every Wednesday night. Sports teams were organized to include: the Kings bas- ketball team, the Angels baseball team and the Saints Pop Warner football teams. Hot meals were prepared for families of the com- munity 5 days a week and on Sundays over 200 young people and a 100 homeless men and women were taken to the Golden Coral restaurant for free breakfast. The church purchased 12 vans and 5 buses to transport members.
