“BEGIN AGAIN”

Wow, it’s a new year, 2015. 2014 has ended. We are entering into a new beginning. What happened last year was last year, now let’s move on. The ex- perts have made their predictions about the economy, politics, and everything else. Will the gas prices continue to go down? What will President Obama do next? Will we have more wars or just a little peace? We are all hoping for a bet- ter year than last year. Christians every- where believe we are in the last days. No one knows what will happen this year.

Each year people all over the world make New Year’s resolutions. They make promises to do an act of self-improve- ment, some things like lose weight, save money, manage stress, or be nicer to someone, only to drop the idea and fall short of their commitment before the year is over. This is a ritual that individu- als have followed for decades. If they achieved their New Year’s resolution they’re inside the minority. As a believ-

We can only predict, speculate, worry, be concern or we can pray, trust God, have faith, have hope and believe.
The beginning of a new year is an ex- cellent time for a fresh start to a new ending. Actually each new day is a new beginning, which brings new opportu- nities. Everyday you wake up you can start fresh. I recently saw this quote by Maria Robinson, “No one can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending”. This made me think, she’s right you can’t start over, but you can begin again right where you are today, to make things bet- ter in your life. God gives you a chance each moment to have a fresh start to cre-

er in Christ, it’s not about a new years resolution. It’s more about your commit- ment to God, asking Him to help you each day, to fall deeper and deeper in love with Him. If your focus is on God, He will “set your mind on the things of heaven not earthly things”, Colossians 3:2. God is our source.
The beginning of each new year brings with it the opportunity and the excuse to start again to make a new ending. Part of the excitement that accompanies every January 1st is that starting again is pos- sible and the belief that a new beginning will create a new successful outcome.
