LUELLA REDFERN’S TRIBUTE TO
A GREAT “WOMAN OF WISDOM”

According to Proverbs 8:11 “For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.” A dedicated servant of God, wife, mother, godmother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, Deaconess, Bible teacher and woman of wisdom are only a few titles, which describe our mother, Essie Lue Goodwin, who went home to be with the Lord in April 2015. She was a lover of God’s Word and a living epistle, who studied, taught and lived by the Word of God. In 2007, she founded the Little River Missionary Baptist Association’s (LRMBA) Women’s Auxiliary Scholarship Program
“As women of wisdom we are seeking to work together with right purposes and pure mo- tives so that we can be a channel that God’s Word can flow through. We must not walk in the wisdom of this World. We must walk with the wisdom of God. If this wisdom is in you and abound, you shall neither be bar- ren nor unfruitful in knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:8). I ask you to accept your challenge. Believe in yourself; combine your words with action. Dedicate your life to your dreams. Expect some hard times. Fight on and be faithful and finish your course. Have a made up mind to inspire someone and

and was crowned Woman of Wisdom in 2008. As founder of the scholarship fund and the annual Red and White Banquet, she was honored by the LRMBA’s Women’s Aux- iliary at the annual banquet on February 14, 2015. In her remarks, she imparted the fol- lowing Words of Wisdom:
journey with Jesus by your side. Never say you can’t overcome your obstacles, put your best foot forward, be patient, stay strong, use your time wisely and always trust in the Lord.
Finally, I ask you to go forth not in ignorance but with wisdom, go forth not in weakness,
