CAN ONE WOMEN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
By Luella Redfern | Continued From Page 23
not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” At the time I didn’t real- ize these words were from 1st Corinthians 13. Unbeknown to me she was teaching me scripture.
You can be that one woman that makes a difference. Empower someone in your life today. You can make a difference with your dollars. Give back to organiza- tions and nonprofits that support children or women ministries. Invest in educating young girls. Give of yourself, your time, and your support. Find something chari- table to do, volunteer. Teach your children to give back by volunteering or donating clothes or toys.
Be the one woman that makes a difference in your own life. Be your own cheerleader. This year push your own boundaries. Believe that you have worth and value. If you struggle with something like writing, commit to doing it more. Try something new. Go somewhere you’ve never been before. Get outside of your comfort zone. The only way you can get better at some- thing is to do it. So make the leap. If you need help, ask for it.
Communicate your need clearly.
Often the reason people are so nasty to each other is because deep inside, they’re totally insecure and intimidated by each other. Show some love, give a compliment. Train your brain to be nice and to think of positive things to say to the cashier at Walmart or to the not so nice wait staff at your favorite restaurant. This can make a world of difference in that person’s life and change their attitude.
Just how much of a difference can one woman make. “...if anything matters then everything matters. Because you are important, everything you do is impor- tant. Every time you forgive, the universe changes; every time you reach out and touch a heart or a life, the world changes; with every kindness and service, seen or unseen, my purposes are accomplished and nothing will be the same again.” Wm. Paul Young The Shack.
Whether you are raising a young family, helping to renovate a school in a small vil- lage or building wells in Cameroon Af- rica for clean drinking water, feeding the homeless, crusading against bullying in your school or teaching bible study, there are a million ways one woman can make a difference and change the world for the better.
