And with this document, the Pilgrims who came for the purpose of establishing Christi- anity survived the dangers and hardships that decimated a previous colonial settlement at- tempt. ThePilgrimsatCapeCodusedthekey to everything and started with a government ofself-government. Thelawstheygoverned themselves by were the Laws of God taken directlyoutoftheBible. Theycametoanew world to establish a new culture, a new country, a new freedom that eventually made America the greatest nation on earth. The Bible and The New England Primer were the only textbooks the early settlers used to educate their chil- dren. The New England Primer was used in public education from the 17th century – until the middle of the 20th century. But oh how things have changed. In 1963, the Supreme Court was wrong when it sided with an atheist woman with ties to communism in removing Christianprayerfromtheclassroom. Andjust recently on Nov. 26, 2014, an Oklahoma school district was wrong again when it shelved a Bible curriculum that Hobby Lobby President Steve Green had hoped would be used by students in theMustangPublicSchools. Eventhoughthe curriculum was approved in April by the school board, two groups prevailed: The Freedom from Religion Foundation and Americans United for Separation of Church and State working with the American Civil Liberties Union. It is sad to think that America has lost her way, far from the hopes and dreams of the earlysettlers. Itissadtoacknowledgethatthese opposing groups do not know American his- tory and are dead set upon destroying any sem- blance of the only thing that can offer hope to ourchildren. Shameonthem!
It is time for a change in the culture that affects a change in the community. I am praying that many teenagers will join them in this struggle to restore America to the great nation that hon- ors God. BEHOLD: Kenyata, Nadya, Sanaa, Victoria, Palesa, Kayana and Jasmine.
