ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY OF
A CHRISTIAN WOMEN IN A
CHANGING SOCIETY
by: Luella Redfern
Recently, I received an invitation from Pastor Richard Jackson of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Saluda, SC to preach at their Women’s Day Program. I accepted, but when Pastor Jackson said the program was scheduled for their regular Sunday morning service, fear begin to set in. I couldn’t believe how nervous I was. The responsibility of preaching in this rural historical, traditional Baptist church encouraging the women and pleasing my Lord Jesus stressed me out.
With much anxiety and restlessness, I prayed the prayer from Ephesians 6:19 that I always

For many years, the proper place of women in society has been an area of much confusion. Within my lifetime, there has been a sweep- ing revolution of how we, as women, view our role and ourselves in society. Sadly millions of Christian women have sold out and bought into the lie of personal fulfillment at any cost and have ended up disillusioned, wounded, and in terrible bond- age. Many have given up hope that they will ever be released from their emotional prisons. Thank God, I can declare today that not all Christian women have succumbed to this invitation from Satan himself. There has al- ways been and will always be those special
