T
he Catalyst Magazine is growing in
depth of coverage and service to our
communities worldwide. We thank God
for the many volunteers who make this
publication possible! Our goal is simple:
to reach our communities, saved and un-
saved, with the message of healing and re-
demption that can be found in Christ. We
share the stories, articles and opinions of
those committed to changing our world by
living out the two Great Commandments,
and fulfilling the Great Commission.
There are two principles on which The
Catalyst Magazine is built: cause-related
marketing and event-related marketing.
"Cause Related Marketing" refers to the
interactive role the publication seeks to
have with it's readers. We do not merely
want to give a report of the problems we
see facing our communities as a passive,
inactive deliverer of information. On the
contrary, The Catalyst Magazine is alive
and active! Our stories, columns, and ar-
ticles take on the causes of the broken,
lost and confused. We give attention to
the problems of the poor and homeless,
the devastation of natural disaster, and
the environmental and ecconomical af-
termath of oil spills. As an extension of
Citylight Prayer Groups, The Catalyst
Magazine looks to inform you, the reader,
of the activities of world changers, serv-
ing as an invitation for you to get involved
in the work being done to save lives and
change a generation. Our aim is not sim-
ply jounalistic or informational but rela-
tional. As neighbors willing to lend help
with our hands and hope with our words,
we are energized by prayer and motivated
to follow the example of Jesus as a cata-
lytic agent of change.
The second principle, "Event Related
Marketing", simply means that The Cata-
lyst Magazine serves as a sort of program
book for live events, in local communities.
The monthly Citylight Prayer Breakfast
is an example. The actual program for the
breakfast is printed in the Catalyst Mag-
azine. A comprehensive story is printed
in the magazine about the speaker, the
honorary host committee and the cause
for the event. This allows the magazine
to have the reader's attention at the event
and adds value to all of the stories because
"we are energized by prayer and motivated to follow the
example of Jesus as a catalytic agent of change."
