Mullins has a long history of board service,
having served on the boards of the Ameri-
can Red Cross ­ SC Region, the Colum-
bia Area Mental Health Association, the
Richland Sertoma Club, the March of
Dimes Walk, and the S.C. Mental Health
Association. He is currently on the board
of directors of the South Carolina Gover-
nor's School for Science and Mathematics.
Mullins is a Fellow of the American and
South Carolina Bar Associations, a dip-
lomat of the American Board of Trial
Attorneys, and a fellow, former commit-
tee chair, state chair, and Regent of the
American College of Trial Lawyers, one
of the premier professional organizations
in the country. Mr. Mullins is a member
of the Defense Research Institute (former
president and chair), the Lawyers For Civ-
il Justice (former president and chair), a
member of the Federation of Defense and
Corporate Counsel (former vice president

of $10,000 or more through United Way.
"Ed has a major commitment to everything
he is involved in," said Charlotte Berry, a
friend of Mullins and fellow Tocqueville
society member. "With his persistence and
ability to follow through, he has certainly
been a supporter and a great advocate for
the community, and specifically the United
Way. His leadership in the Tocqueville So-
ciety is outstanding, and he has taken it to
another level. He has shown not only law-
yers in his firm, but in other firms as well,
that you can be a good, professional lawyer
and have a passion for your community."
Mullins has helped recruit dozens of oth-
