hat an exciting time for the Church, the
Ekklesia, the "called out ones" of God!
This was such a defining moment in church
history and we should be constantly reminded
of what it means for the believer today.
Pentecost means "count fifty" and is cel-
ebrated 50 days after the Feast of First
Fruits--i.e. Resurrection Day--(Lev 23:10-
16). It is held by Jewish tradition that Pen-
tecost (Heb. Shavuot, or "Weeks") was the
time at which the Law (Heb. Torah, or "in-
struction") was given to Moses on tablets of
